Veterans lose season opener

Central Jersey Friendship League
HAZLET – KORABI VETERANS  5:2 (3:1)

Hazlet, NJ – September 9, 2007 – The Veterans started the Fall season in the Central Jersey Friendship League with a disappointing loss. Early in the game it looked as if Korabi was going to cruise to an easy game with Kujtim Kaziu converting a cross from the left side for a 1-0 lead. Korabi, wasting various scoring opportunities fell into a lull and Hazlet capitalized with three unanswered goals in the first half to take a commanding 3-1 lead.
The second half started much like the first, but again, Korabi failed to capitalize on many scoring opportunities. Finally, Kujtim Kaziu scored on a low shot into the net. And yet again, as in the first half, Hazlet came right back and scored two goals to give Hazlet a 5:2 win.
This was a much closer game than the final score shows, if Korabi only capitalized on some of its scoring opportunities.
