NY Metro Women’s Soccer League “B” Div 

KORABI Freedom – NY Magic     3:0 (1:0) 

Staten Island, NY – March 16, 2008 – This afternoon the Korabi Freedom took the outdoor pitch for the first time hosting the NY Magic Reserves, of the NYMWSL “A” Division, in a friendly match.  

The ladies played a very good game, creating some scoring opportunities but could not manage to score. The NY Magic were the more aggressive, bigger and more experienced team. This game was a great experience for the younger Korabi ladies and hopefully they will gain the experience to be able to compete with the top teams in women’s soccer in the metropolitan area. 

Even though some of the Korabi players have played together in the past, this was the very first time they all played together in an outdoor game. The Korabi ladies will be playing a series of friendly games so they can prepare for the Fall, when they start competing in NY Metro Women’s Soccer League “B” Division. 

We would like to thank everyone who showed up on a cold and wet day for their support.

Dibër – 9 Mars 2008 – Nisi sezoni pranveror në Ligën e Tretë të Maqedonisë ku Korabi ishte nikoqir i ekipit të Prespës. 

Prespa ështe kryesuesi i ligës së tretë, mbas diskualifikimit të ekipit Novaci, i cili ndodheshte në vendin e parë.Korabi lojën e filloi me shumë lojtarë të rinj, të cilët me lojën e tyre treguan se Korabi ka ardhmëri. Fillimi ishte shumë i mirë, me shumë shanca, por me një realizim jo shumë te mirë. Në minutin 18, Korabit i anullohet një gol, për prekjen e topit me dorë. Në minutin 40, goli i parë erdhi nga një aksion i nisur nga Musa Samarxhiu dhe me një krosim të bukur nga Abdul Lleshi tek Albert Kaba, i cili me lehtësi e mposhti portjerin kundershtar. Menjëherë mbas golit të parë, në minutin 43 Fuat Spahiu shfrytëzoi një gabim të mborjtësit mysafir dhe shënoi golin e dytë në këtë takim. 

Pjesa e dytë nisi me të njejtën tempo dhe me të njejtën lojë ofenzive. Ne minutin 55 në fushën e lojes u fut Fitim Samarxhiu, ishte një “surprizë” e këndshme kur e pamë Fitimin në lojë, pasi mungonte që nga sezoni i kaluar, sepse ndodhet në emigrim në Itali. Në këtë lojë dominoi loja kolektive ku mesfusha ishte reparti më i pregaditur dhe u dallua me një lojë shumë të mirë Musa Samarxhiu. Ne minutin 60 Fitimi Samarxhiu, Albert Kaba dhe Musa Samarxhiu organizuan një aksion shumë të shpejtë, të cilin Faizi e finalizoi me gol. Lojtarët e Prespës gati gjithë lojës mundoheshin me shënue me anë të kundërsulmeve, por portjeri Muhamet Trapi me disa pritje te mira nuk i la që të shënojnë. Në minutat e fundit të ndeshjes pamë edhe një gol tjeter nga Betin Lleshi, por u anullua për pozicion jashtë loje, nje vendim i çuditshëm i anësorit. 

Korabi me shumë meritë e fitoi këtë lojë dhe i tregoi ekipit kryesues se si luhet futbolli. 

Komisioni Disciplinor i Federatës së Futbollit të Maqedonisë ka mar vendim dhe ka dënuar nga 1 vit dy lojtarë të Korabit, Adrian Mulladauti dhe Abib Kllobocishta.

Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League U-19

CSJL Heilpern Mem Indoor Tournament

March 9, 2008 – Korabi Juniors played in the Cosmopolitan Juniors Indoor Soccer Tournament U19A, and their performance was nothing short of outstanding.

In their group they tied powerhouse Brooklyn Italians (2:2), defeated FC Harlem (3:2) and defeated Eleftheria (8:0). This tied them with Brooklyn Italians and only loosing 1st place in their group due to goal difference.

The semifinal game was against another powerhouse team Chernomorets, who took a 3:0 lead. With five minutes left in the game Korabi showed their great character and an excellent comeback to tie the game 3:3 and send the game into overtime. In Korabi kept pressuring and missed on a couple of chances, while their opponents took advantage on a free kick as the ball bounced off a defender and into the net to give Chernomorets a 4:3 win and put them in the final against Brooklyn Italians.

Again, the Korabi Juniors performance was outstanding, and they surely left a mark against Division “A” powerhouse teams in the Cosmopolitan Juniors Soccer League.

KORABI – FC PARTIZANI NY 4:3 (2:3)

Staten Island, NY – March 9, 2008 – In preparation for the upcoming Spring season Korabi played a friendly match with Partizani, a fellow CSL team.

Korabi started the game with some crisp passing and relentless attacking. In the 5th minute Albert Ruci made a run down the left flank and crossed the ball in goal mouth where Robert Mela was able to tap into the net to give Korabi a 1-0 lead. Robert Mela scored again in the 12th minute, converting a cross from Luigi Ferrara, to increase the Korabi lead to 2-0.

It seem like Korabi became complacent after the early lead and allowed Partizani to take over the game. In the 28th minute Partizani scored to reduce their deficit to one. It only took another minute for Partizani to score again and tie the game at 2 all. Partizani was able to score and take the lead in the 45th minute, shortly before the halftime whistle.

Korabi scored in the opening minute of the second half when Gzim Koleci was able to score on a 20 yard shot. But that was it as both teams showed that they are rusty from the long winter layoff and did not impress with their dull and mistake prone play.

The only bright spot for Korabi came in the 75th minute with a play that started in midfield with Luigi Ferrara getting past an opponent and making a beautiful pass to Azmir Dzemoski who continued on the left side and got past 2 defenders and crossed the ball over to Klaudio who easily converted to give Korabi a 4-3 lead and the win.

Waldwick, NJ – March 2, 2008 – The Cosmopolitan Soccer League Annual Indoor Soccer Tournament was held today at the Superdome Sports Facility in Waldwick, NJ. Korabi entered the tournament, it’s first ever indoor tournament, competing in the Open Divison, with high expectations.
Korabi dedicated the tournament to their beloved fan Sefedin “Dini” Ramku, who passed away yesterday and was being laid to rest as Korabi was playing in the tournament. Korabi exceeded everyone’s expectations and surprised the tournament participants by wining first place.
