Greenbelt Recreational Center, Staten Island, NY – October 26, 2008 – Today’s game was a rematch of the final game of last years Metro 2 Division season that decided the Division winner (both teams gained promotion to Metro1), and the result was the same, a 1-0 Korabi loss.

Korabi played very well in the first half with plenty of opportunities but came up empty, not being able to score.

The second half saw the visitors gaining confidence, increasing their attack and pressuring the Korabi defense. It was very evident that the visitors were the stronger more aggressive of the two teams and their constant intimidation and pressure paid off when they scored in the final minutes of the game.

Dibër, 26 Tetor 2008 – Fitoren e radhes Korabi e bëri në Dibër, kundër ekipit nga Veleshta me rezulltat minimal 1-0.

Edhe në këtë ndeshje Korabi e nisi lojën pa portierin Muhamet Trapi, I cili vazdhon rekuperimin nga lëndimi. Gjithë pjesa e parë i takonte ekipit Dibran. Me aksione të njëpasnjëshme mundoheshin që të shënojnë në portën kundërshtare, por gati si në shumë ndeshje, finalizimi ishte shumë i dobët. Lojtarët e Veleshtës në pjesën e parë nuk gjuajtën asnjëherë në portën e Korabit, pasi që loja e tyre ishte e pozicionuar në mbrojte.

Edhe në pjesën e dyte ishte e njejta lojë si në pjesën e parë, aksione, goditje në portë por përsëri pa finalizime. Nga mesi i pjesës së parë në fushë u inkuadrua Abib Klloboçishta (nuk lujati nga fillimi për shkak të lëndimit) dhe nuk shkuan disa minuta nga hyrja në fushë e Abib Klloboçishtës erdhi goli i vetëm në këtë takim.

Monmouth Coast 3-2 KORABI Veterans
Goal: Rifat Ollogu, Fisnik Daci

18th Ave Fields, Wall, NJ – October 26, 2008 – The Veterans lost to a much faster and better conditioned Monmouth Coast team.

The first half was fairly even with both sides missing on various scoring chances. A penalty was awarded to Korabi when Daci was taken down inside the box but Çaki missed from the spot to keep the score tied at 0-0.

The second half belonged to the home team. They scored on a beautiful shot in the 65th minute and scored again in the 70th minute to take a 2-0 lead. This could have been a worse loss if the Veterans keeper, Lai Caku, hadn’t made some spectacular saves. In the 85th minute Rifat Ollogu gave Korabi some life when he scored on a rebound off a corner kick. Three minutes later, Fisnik Daci raced on the left side and scored on a powerful shot to even score at 2-2.

In injury time, when it seemed that the game would end in a tie, a Korabi blunder when the defender passed ball to the opponent who scored.

Dobrushevë, Manastir, 19 Tetor 2008 – Humbje e “rëndë”. Përsëri humbje, përsëri si mysafir (4 lojë, 4 humbje), këtë radhë Korabi humbi një ndeshje që e vështirëson edhe më shumë rënditjen në tabelë, humbi një ndeshje nga një ekipe modeste prej të cilës duheshte të meren 3 pikë.

Korabi në këtë takim lojën e nisi pa portierin Muamet Trapi, i cili pas ndërhyrjes hirurgjike duhet të pushojë 2 javë (u lendua në ndeshje me Vllaznimin).

Në pjesën e parë loja nisi mirë, ishte Albert Kaba golshënuesi për Korabin dhe lojtari që shënoi golin e parë në këtë takim. Ndeshja vazhdoi mirë për ekipin Dibran, ku nëpërmjet Faizit goditën edhe shtyllen. Në një aksion të ekipit vendas, mbrojtesi i Korabit, Shaban Vërlaku largoi topin në mënyrë të regullt, por gjyqtari i takimit akordoi një gjuajtje nga pika e bardhë, dhe vendasit shënuan gol. Me rezultatin 1-1 mbaroi pjesa e parë.

Pas gabimit të rëndë nga portieri i Korabit, ekipi vendas kaloi në avantazh 2-1. Përsëri protagonisti i golit të 3-ë ishte portieri Dibran, Kasapi. Mungesa e eksperiencës, mungesa e seriozitetit në ndeshje bëri që Kasapi të ndërhyje në një mënyrë të panevojshme në zonën e reptësisë dhe me të drejtë gjyqtari akordoi penaltin e dytë, te cilin lojtari vendas e realizoi në gol.

Në minutat në vazdhim ekipi vendas mbeti me një lojtar më pak në fushë, me karton të kuq u largua portieri i ekipit vendas. Mbasi i kishin bërë 3 ndrime, ekipi vendas u detyrua që në portë të fuse një nga lojtarët e saj, jo portier. Më shumë se 25 minuta lojtarët e Korabit nuk mundën ta realizojnë këtë “shancë”, vetëm nga fundi i ndeshjes u shënua dhe goli i 2-ë me anë të 11-metërshit nga Adrian Mulladauti.

NY State Cup (Flamhaft Cup)

KORABI Bears 3-1 Avellino

Greenbelt Recreational Center, Staten Island, NY – October 19, 2008 – In the opening round of the State Cup Korabi was host to Avellino of the Italian-American Soccer League.

Korabi started the game strong with continues attacking, but poor finishing and a stubborn visiting defense kept the game scoreless until the 28th minute when Manuel scored knocking in a rebound from 12 yards out to give Korabi a 1-0 lead. Another missed opportunity, as the crossbar saved the visitors from conceding a second goal.

Abdulla Begai scored to give Korabi a 2-0 lead in the 51st minute. The next 10-15 minutes were marred by missed Korabi scoring chances only to see the visitors pull a goal back by scoring on a low 15 yard shot in 66th minute. The game got very physical from this point on with the visitors resorting to some very rough tactics in an effort to intimidate the host but it did not work. Abdulla Begai scored his second goal of the game with 5 minutes remaining to put the game away and out of reach.

With this win Korabi advanced to the second round in the State Cup.

Central Jersey Friendship League O-40 “A”

KORABI Veterans 2-1 Hazlet
Goal: Musa (Çaki) Gjeli (2)

Veterans Park, Old Bridge, NJ – October 19, 2008 – A very well deserved and long overdue win for the Veterans.

Korabi has played well all season but missed scoring opportunities have plagued them, and today was no different. In the first half alone, 3 misses 1 on 1 with the goal keeper and 2 wide open net misses and off course the first half ended scoreless, with the defense playing well.

Minutes into the second half Hazlet took the lead on a penalty. The Veterans kept their composure and in the 65th minute were able to equalize when Çaki scored in a scramble in front of the visitors goalmouth. There were more missed scoring chances and with 5 minutes in the game Neat Krkuti took a pass from Adem Kllobuçishta on the right side and crossed it and Çaki headed in his second goal of the match giving Korabi the win.

Greenbelt Recreational Center, Staten Island, NY – October 12, 2008 – Korabi finally got the first win of the 2008-2009 it so very much deserved.

Korabi has played well every game so far this season but doesn’t have much to show for it, two points out of a possible nine, and it seems that today was the break out game.

Adam Hussein opened the scoring in the 14th minute when he accepted a pass at the top of the box and placed a low left post shot past the visiting goalkeeper. The game continued with both teams being cautious and not taking risks with only a few attacks and the game being primarily played in the midfield.

At half time coach Rusty (Reshit Papraniku) asked that his players to step up the tempo and go on the offensive and the second half turned out to be a fantastic show of offense as Korabi could have easily scored ten goals but only managed to score two.

In the 64th minute Manuel scored from the far right side to give Korabi a 2-0 lead. Adam Hussein scored his second goal of the game in the 83rd minute when he combined on a give and go with Berat Islami.

Dibër, 12 Tetor 2008 – Derbi i shumëpritur i takoi me shumë meritë ekipit të Korabit.

Stadioni i qytetit të Dibrës ishte vendi ku na dha shumë emocione sot, ditë e Diel, në ndeshjen derbi Korabi – Vllaznimi.

Loja filloi shumë mirë për ekipin Dibran, në pjesën e parë paten shumë raste per gol, por për fat te keq nuk ishin shumë të saktë në finalizim.

Pjesa e dyte ishte një pjesë që i takonte Korabit, ishin lojtarët e Korabit të cilët e kërkonin golin me çdo kusht. Por, edhe në pjesën e dytë fati nuk ishte në krahun e lojtarëve Dibran, pasi që nuk mundën me shfrytëzu disa raste të mira për gol.
Në fillim të pjesës të dytë portieri Muhamet Trapi iu desht që ta lëshojë terenin për shkak të një lëndimi shumë të rëndë, ku në një diluftim me kundërshtarin, portieri Trapi u lëndua në kokë dhe menjëherë iu desht që të shkojë në Qendrën Medicinale të Dibrës. Shpresojmë që aij të kthehet sa më shpejtë nga lëndimi.

Në minutën e 70 erdhi goli i shumëpritur dhe që u duartrokit shumë dhe gëzoi pamasë të pranishmit në stadion, ku kishte një numër të madh spektatorësh. Golshënues ishte Fuat Spahiu, ku nga një aksion të pregaditur shumë mirë bashkë me Abib Klloboçishta ariti të shënojë.

Korabi mbas kësaj fitore ka 15 pikë dhe rënditet e 4-a në tabelën e ligës të tretë.

KORABI Veterans 3-3 Cranbury
Goal: Zeqo Papraniku, Tonçe Papraniku, Agim Fishta

Veterans Park, Old Bridge, NJ – October 12, 2008 – It seems that Korabi can’t catch a break, taking the lead three times only to lose it each time. Zeqo Papraniku opened the scoring in Korabi’s first possession in the opening minutes of the game with a solo effort, getting by numerous defenders and placing a low shot on the left past a helpless goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead. It did not take long for the Veterans to lose the lead when ten minutes later Cranbury was able to deflect the ball into the goal on a mix up at the goalmouth. Both teams had a number of missed scoring opportunities and the first half ended 1-1.

In the 55th minute Tonçe Papraniku put the Veterans ahead 2-1 when he headed back a clearing pass that got past the keeper. Cranbury equalized on a breakaway in the 65th minute. Agim Fishta once again gave the Veterans the lead on a beautifully executed give and go with Zeqo Papraniku. In the final minutes of the game Cranbury equalized in what seemed to be an offside position.
