Midland Beach, SI, NY – March 29, 2009 – A hat trick by Azmir Dzemoski was not enough as Korabi was unable to hold on for the win, conceding a goal in the final minutes of the game.

Korabi came out flat in the first half with the visitors dominating play and scoring two early goals, but were able to pull a goal back before half time. Azmir took advantage of a defensive error winning the ball and taking it for a score.

The second half was clearly the better for Korabi as they played well and Azmir scored his second goal to even the score at 2-2. In the 65th minute Azmir scored again to give Korabi the lead.

The weather became a factor in the last 15 minutes of the game with fog covering the field with poor visibility making it difficult for the players to keep the ball in sight.

The visitors were able to score in the final minutes to gain the draw.

Wall – KORABI Veterans 3-5 (2-1)

Wall, NJ – March 29, 2009 – The morning did not start out good for the Veterans.

Half of the team made a wrong turn and got to the game late, the game had already started with the Veterans playing with only 7 players. Playing short for the first 15 minutes, they were able to keep the game tied on a goal by Alit Jani. The host scored in the 35th minute to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.

The Veterans came out strong in the second half with Neat Krkuti scoring early to even the score at 2-2. Minutes later Kujtim Kaziu also scored to give the Veterans the lead for good. Fisnik Daci scored to put Korabi up by two but shortly after Wall scored to pull one back. Neat Krkuti scored his second goal of the game to give Korabi a 5-3 lead.

Finally, the Veterans were able to hold on to win the game.

Demir Hisar, 29 Mars, 2009 – Përsëri humbje si mysafir, këtë herë në Demir Hisar me ekipin e Vardinos.

Vendasit kanë siguruar fitoren që në pjesën e parë, me rezultat 2-0 mbaroi pjesa e parë.

Pjesën e dytë Korabi bëri një lojë më të mirë, por në fund nuk aritën që të dalin të pamposhtur.

Ishin vendasit që shënuan përsëri të parët në pjesën e dytë. Në vazhdim të ndeshjes, Abdul Lleshi shënoi nga një goditje denimi. Rezulltatin përfundimtar e vendosi Fuat Spahiu i cili shënoi nga pika e bardhë.

Sporting Astoria 1-0 KORABI

Astoria, NY – March 22, 2009 – It’s like Déjà vu, Korabi dominated the entire game with numerous opportunities for goals, including two shots off the post, but could not put the game away.

Sporting Astoria offense was shut down by the strong Korabi defense with the exception of a mis-kick by Sporting Astoria which led to a lucky goal in the final minutes of play.

The entire season Korabi has outclassed and outplayed their opponents but has failed to score. Perhaps things will turn around in the upcoming matches as Coach Rusty makes some adjustments to the line up.

Some luck would not hurt either!

Monmouth Coast   2–2   Veterans

Sea Girt, NJ – March 22, 2009 – A frigid morning and poor field conditions made it very difficult to play but the nevertheless the game continued without incident.

The first half was played primarily in the midfield with the Veterans having the upper hand the first 20 minutes but unable to mount any serious attacks. The host took control of play later in the half and were able to score when keeper Abdulla “Lai” Cako was unable to hold on to a shot that bounced in front of a host forward who scored to give Monmouth Coast a 1-0 lead.

The Veterans came out strong in the second half scoring early. The offense stripped the ball from the defense who was trying to clear, won possession and Gazmend “Gazi” Belegu scored to even the score at 1-1. Not long after, Lai and Gazi combined to give the Veterans the lead when Lai punted the ball across two thirds of the field and Gazi raced past the defense and put a shop past a dazed host keeper.

With minutes to go in the game Monmouth scored on a scramble in front of the goalmouth to give the host the tie.

Ohër, 18 Mars 2009 – Korabi diten e Mërkurë me luajti ndeshjen e anulluar, që duheshte ta luajë në xhiron e parë në këtë sezonë me Leskoecin në Ohër.

Vetë rezulltati tregon se Korabi ka bërë një ndeshje shumë të dobët.

Arsyja është se lojtarët nuk kanë bërë asnjë ditë ushtrime në stadion, për shkak se akoma nuk ka rymë elktrike në zhveshtore.

NY State Cup – “Flamhaft Cup 2008-9”

KORABI 1-1 Pythagoras Samos

Midland Beach Field, Staten Island, NY – March 15 2009 – Korabi advances in the New York State Flamhaft Cup with a penalty shootout win over Pythagoras Samos in the third round.

The game started strong for Korabi who attacked the better part of the first half but came up short missing numerous scoring opportunities with the visiting keeper on the top of his game.

After the break, Korabi kept on the attack and it finally paid off in the 60th minute when Albert Ruci accepted a midfield pass from Berat Islami, got past two defenders and put a low shot in the net to give Korabi a 1-0 lead. Korabi continued to play well and it seemed that they will be able to hold on to the lead but in the last 10 minutes of the game the visitors went on the attack pressuring the Korabi defense. In the 89th minute the visitors scored on a defensive blunder to tie the game at 1-1.

Since darkness was near the referee decided that there would not be sufficient time for overtime and decided to send the game to penalty shots, with both teams taking 5 penalties each and if necessary would continue one at a time.

Korabi was the first up to take a penalty and missed on the very first shot but did not lose composure, hoping that the visitors would miss one as well and they would have a chance to redeem themselves. This did not happen until the 5th and last shot when Brian, the host keeper saved a low shot to his right. Both teams continued scoring, even the goalkeepers having to shoot, until the 13th round when Christian Leyden scored and the visting player shot wide of the goal to give Korabi a very hard fought but deserving win over a very strong and physical team.

Dibër, 15 Mars 2009 – Ekipi i Korabit sot luajti ndeshjen e parë në sezonin pranveror si vendas. Para shikuesëve Dibran, Korabi ariti të fitojë 3-2 kundër ekipit Kravari nga Manastiri.

Në këtë ndeshje kishte disa ndryshime në formacionin e klubit Dibran, mungonin veteranët e ekipit Albert Kaba dhe Shaban Vërlaku, të cilët nuk do japin më kontributin e tyre për ekipin e Korabit, për shkak se janë tërhequr nga fusha e gjelbert. Gjithashtu, ndryshim kishte edhe ne portë, mbas një sezoni jo të mirë të portierit Kasapi, klubi vendosi që për këtë sezon ti besojë portierit të ri Ariton Rexha.

Sa i përket ndeshjes, Korabi bëri një lojë të mirë në pjesën e parë. Në minutat e para u shënua edhe goli i parë i ndeshjes, golshënues ishte Adrian Mulladauti nga pika e bardhë. Mbas disa rasteve të mira që bënë lojtarët e Korabit, aritën që të shënojnë edhe golin e dytë. Ishte i riu Koleci aij që shënoi golin e dytë.

Në pjesën e dytë ndryshoi çdo gjë, ishin mysafiret të cilët dominuan ndeshjen deri në minutën e tredhjete. Fillimisht, shënuan në minutën e 10-të mbas një devijimi të topit nga tereni jo shumë i mirë. Mbas golit të parë shpresat u ritën dhe shfritezuan lojën e dobët të Korabit në ato minuta, dhe shënuan golin e dytë.

Mbas barazimit, Korabi me çdo kusht kërkonte fitoren, me aksione të njëpasnjëshme aritën të shënonin golin e fitores, ishte përsëri Adrian Mulladauti golshënuesi dhe protagonisti i kësaj ndeshje.

Cranbury 3-1 KORABI Veterans

Cranbury, NJ – March 15, 2009 – The Veterans started the Spring season fielding nearly a full squad, played well but were unable to capitalize on numerous scoring opportunities.

The Veterans played very well in the first half scoring in the 30th minute when Shkelzen Ndreu, in his debut, scored on a shot from 25 yards out.

The second half saw the Veterans miss numerous scoring opportunities, including 3 breakaways alone with the keeper, and Cranbury capitalized scoring 3 unanswered goals to give them the win in the season opener.

Bashkim Abdullai returned after a year of inactivity due to injury and played well.
Next Sunday, the Veterans will play away at Monmouth Coast.
