Korabi gets revenge

Sporting Astoria – KORABI 1-2 (0-1)
Goals: Berat Islami

Bekim “Bek” Papraniku
Astoria, NY – April 5, 2009 – Korabi faced Sporting Astoria once again after a disappointing 1-0 loss just two weeks ago. Now it was time for Korabi to get revenge.

Korabi scored in the first half as Berat Islami dribbled past the keeper to make it 1-0.

Sporting Astoria came out strong in the second half and tied the game 1-1. Coach Rusty Papraniku pulled the team together and asked Korabi to dig in deep. It seems that extra push is what the players needed. Korabi was in the pursuit of scoring a second goal, but as “luck” turns out, an own-goal gave Korabi the lead and 2-1 victory.

Notable mention, Ari Dema played an outstanding match as goal keeper. The 6’3” Dema was the intimidating factor that denied Sporting Astoria many opportunities. Also, Amir Alishahi and Alban Zekaj were instrumental in the victory as they controlled the midfield.

Sometimes revenge is sweet!
