A tough loss at Cranbury

Central Jersey Friendship Soccer League

Frendship Ball

Cranbury – KORABI Veterans 2-1 (1-0)
Goal: Kujtim Kaziu

Cranbury, NJ – October 17, 2010 – The morning started with the referee missing in action and both teams having to agree on a last minute alternate, and that was Amyr, a Cranbury player who agreed to referee the game.

In the first half, both teams played well but it was the host Cranbury team who took a 1-0 lead after they were awarded a controversial penalty by the inexperienced replacement referee.

The host team started the second half strong and midway through scored to increase their lead to 2-0. It took the second goal for the visitors to wake up and improve their play, and they did as Kujtim Kaziu was able to score on a follow up after the host keeper made a spectacular save on a Fisnik Daci breakaway.

Korabi kept attacking in an effort to tie the game but it was not in the stars, as a number of missed opportunities and a non call penalty after Zeqo was clearly brought down in the box, sealed the loss.
