Staten Island, NY – Sunday, Nov 7, 2010 – On a cold afternoon game against fellow Albanian team FC Partizani at Greenbelt Recreational Center Field, Korabi was able to extend their undefeated run as it was able to shut out FC Partizani 3:0.

A first half penalty kick by Darien in the 6th minute gave Korabi a 1:0 lead, as in the first half the hosts FC Partizani had plenty of chances to tie the game but were unsuccessful.

In the second half again Partizani was clearly outplaying Korabi, their continuous pressure was halted by the Korabi defenders, by goalkeeper Ari Dema who did a great job on goal, or even the crossbar, as I counted three shots deflecting of the crossbar in the second half. Today luck seemed to be on the Korabi side as Partizani just could not score.

Finally Berat Islami awakens and takes charge in midfield and in the 77th minute dribbles past defenders and rips a low shot to the goalies left for a 2:0 Korabi lead. Again Berat Islami, in the 84th minute blasted the ball to the upper right corner of the goal for a 3:0 Korabi lead and put the game out of Partizani’s reach.

There were still six minutes left in the game as Partizani players kept attacking the Korabi goal, some of the Korabi players were more worried that the pizza was getting cold on the sideline, and maybe the order should not be placed too early?.

The win keeps Korabi on top of Metro 1 Division with a 6-0-0 record with 18 points, while Partizani falls to 0-6-2 with 2 points.

Next week Korabi continues with the D’Arpino State Cup, most likely host to Homenetmen of NY.

Thank’s to all the Korabi fans, their dedication and support was undeterred by the cold weather.
