KORABI Extra – Union Latinos 5-1 (5-0)

Staten Island, NY – October 25, 2009 – Korabi Extra avenged it’s earlier loss to Union Latinos easily beating them in the Fall/Winter championship game.

Fielding some Korabi Bears players for the final, Extra easily beat an overmatched Union Latinos team scoring 5 goals in the first half to put the game away in the first half. This gave way for the reserves and some younger players to play the second half and gain some needed experience.

Payback is sweet

KORABI Extra – Cruz Azul 3-0 (0-0)

Staten Island, NY – October 18, 2009 – Korabi Extra avenged it’s earlier loss to Cruz Azul eliminating them from the playoff round.

The first half was a pretty even with both sides having missed various scoring opportunities.

Extra came out attacking in the second half and got on the score board early and kept on the pressure scoring two mor goals for what seemed an easy win when in fact was a very difficult win. Ari Dema was stellar on defense leading t he team to the shutout.

Korabi wins third straight Spanish League title


KORABI Extra – Union Latinos 3-1 (1-0)

Greenbelt Rec Ctr, Staten Island, NY – August 30, 2009 – Korabi Extra wins it’s third straight Spanish League title beating Union Latinos 3-1 in the final.

Korabi started the game strong offensively and in the 30th minute Abdulla Begai scored on a header from a Manuel cross from the right side for a 1-0 lead.

The second half saw Korabi frustrated and conceding an unanswered goal in the 57th minute for a 1-1 draw. It didn’t take long for Korabi to regain the lead in the 62nd minute when Abdulla Begai scored from 35 yards out on a free kick awarded after Albert Ruci was take down. In the 81st minute Darion took a lead pass and went in on a solo run to score and increase the lead to 3-1.
